being sick is unpleasant.

So I have been MIA these past few days, due to many events and mishaps. Wednesday night was my cousin's girlfriend, Frances birthday; which I would like to wish her a wonderful and joyful 21st birthday. A bunch of her and my cousin's friends gathered at Cheeseburger Paradise, very yummy food, where we all had ours laughs and pranks. I had a good time. Also my cousin and her adorable baby, Hailey showed up - I haven't seen Hailey since I took pictures of her which was 6 months ago. Now, she's a full 8 months and too freakin' cute. Here are some pictures of the birthday girl with my cousin, Robert, her boyfriend. And pictures of me and Hailey <3

After the birthday celebrations I had went straight home instead of joining the dinner after party; I have work the next day around 8, so I usually try to be home at a decent time. Now here is where all my mishaps come into play. As I get ready for bed, I take off my contacts and notice something off about my eyes. In my tear ducts I clean out the build up, eye boogies, but it wasn't the usual gunk, it was blood. I was taken back by it, looked at it closely and noted it. In the morning, I asked my mother if this had every happen to her; since she wore contacts longer than I have. She replied with a worrisome no and told me to see my eye doctor immediately.

I go about my morning getting ready for work and making myself breakfast; at that moment I felt fine. I felt the heaviness of my lids, but I thought it was because I didn't get enough sleep. I get to work and go about my duties when I notice that my eye lids where getting too heavy. I started to feel pressure and discomfort. I told my co-worker how I was feeling and what I had found last night, even she said that has to be bad. I had already made an appointment with my eye doctor at 3pm, but now with the building up pressure I pushed it to as soon as there is an open spot. I wanted him to see what was going on while it was in the works. And it helped, he was able to pin point what was going on which... drum roll please... I suffocated my cornea. Now, I don't want to scare people who might be interested in contacts. Don't be. It was my fault for keeping my contacts in longer than the recommend time. I am suppose to dispose of my contact every 2 weeks, but on my last pair I kept them for over a month. I know... Shame on me. Lesson learned; and don't mess with my eyes. Right now I'm taking a series of eye drops and stuck with my glasses... mehhh... I did it to myself. And to top the icing, I got sick with the common cold...ugh... So this weekend was not so great for me. It's been eye drops, cough drops, NyQuil and lots of tea. I'm in the recovery phase, but I'm getting there. Feeling much better compared to last Thursday. Hopefully the rest of the week will go easy on me...
